 One of the major complaints about Facebook is the Application Request Queue that keeps getting longer and longer unless your religiously hit the "Ignore" button each time thereâs a request from a friend to add a new Facebook application. At the time of writing, there were as many as 620 invitations in my Facebook Inbox for various Facebook Applications and clearing this queue would have taken days as I would press the Ignore button exactly 620 times.  Autoplay play feature is not only available in CD drives, but also in the flash drives and external hard drives that you connect to your PC. In any case your external drives or CDs or flash drives are infected with virus, spywares or malwares, then chances are there that your PC could also be infected with the autoplay feature. Best way to combat this issue is to disable autoplay on all your system drives. To disable autoplay on all drives, best method is to change it through Group Policy Editor. In order to do this, you have to perform the following steps:
- At first, click on the Start button of your Windows XP OS and then click Run from the right side menu
- Then type gpedit.msc and press enter.
- A window will be popped up immediately titled "Group Policy" editor.
- Navigate to: Local Computer Policy -> Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System.
- Then click on the System. In the right panel, when you scroll down a little bit, you will find "Turn off Autoplay", Just double click on it.
- A new window will be popped up titled "Turn off Autoplay Properties". Now, select enabled and choose All drives from the drop down list and then click OK button.
That's it. Now autoplay feature has been disabled on All drives which you connect to your PC.

 Recently there is a discussion in forum about data recovery. I am quite surprised to know that many people don’t think that data recovery software works. In my experience, it does work and it saved my @$! many times after accidentally deleting important files or after formatting a hard drive and forgot to backup some files. There was only once, I wrongly formatted my external hard drive and somehow I wasn’t able to get back all my files. I have 7 external hard drives, all same casing and no label. I guess the reason I wasn’t able to get back my files is because I might have copied some files to the hard drive. When recovering data from accidental deletion, there are some rules to follow.
- Stop using the hard drive you want to recover as main hard drive (Windows has disk and registry activity in background. Don’t believe? Run RegMon, FileMon and DiskMon)
- Do not install the data recovery software on the hard drive that you want to recover.
- Do not save the recovered files on the hard drive that you’re recovering.
Do take note that these are my top 10 picks for FREE data recovery software. Number 1 does not mean it is better than number 5.
1. Recuva
 - From the maker of the popular CCleaner. Recuva (pronounced “recover”) is a freeware Windows utility to restore files that have been accidentally deleted from your computer. This includes files emptied from the Recycle bin as well as images and other files that have been deleted by user error from digital camera memory cards or MP3 players. It will even bring back files that have been deleted by bugs, crashes and viruses! Setup is only 646 KB in size and it’s portable.

Audio Editing: If you ever wanted to do some basic audio recording, look no further than Audacity - it can record, remove noise from audio and also mix multiple sound track. With little effort, you can use Audacity to record live streaming music from Internet radio stations. Video Editing: For videos, Windows Movie Maker from Microsoft is a good choice. It has all the basic video editing tools plus a good collection of transitions and video effects. For advanced usage, get the powerful VirtualDub - it has a number of filters (like video rotation), can create videos from image sequences, split videos or even extract sound from video tracks.
Instant Messenger: If your friends are spread across different services like Google Talk, Yahoo! Messenger, MSN and others, get Pidgin and connect to all popular IM services using a single software. Pidgin provides a tabbed interface so the desktop won’t look cluttered even if you are simultaneously chatting with multiple buddies.

Both let you transfer pictures from the desktop to Flickr. For advanced photo editing, use Paint.NET or GIMP.
Windows Enhancements: If you like using keyboard more than the mouse, get Launchy - it helps you start your favorite programs (and documents) without touching the Windows Start Menu. TweakUI is another desktop enhancement to help you control the appearance of Windows, change the location of default folders and so much more.
Spring Cleaning: WinDirStat gives you a visual overview of files and folders that are consuming the bulk of space on your hard drive so you know where to hit the delete key when the drive is full. CCleaner with automatically find and remove all the unnecessary temp files from your computer reclaiming valuable hard drive space. It also clears all the junk from Windows registry so your system runs faster. MyUninstaller will help you remove software that do show up in Windows Add Remove control panel.
Desktop Email: If you like checking and replying to your web email from the desktop, Windows Live Mail and ThunderBird are worth considering. Copernic Desktop is an excellent software for finding emails, documents, photos and other multimedia files on your computer. Microsoft SyncToy provides a visual interface for synchronizing file folders between computers and external drives.
